March - June 2017: Melanie was the Producer for Six40 Theatre's Emerging Artists Showcase presented at Above the Arts, Arts Theatre, West End. Melanie continues to collaborate with Six40 Theatre as they look to develop more showcases for emerging talent.
September 2016 - March 2017: Melanie freelanced with Homer Simpson Productions as a Marketing Assistant for the Hans Teeuwen: Real Rancour UK Tour 2016 and as a Production Assistant for industry presentations of Dougal Irvine's Angry Birds.
December 2016: Melanie was Producer and Director for a script development workshop for a new play, Moon Rocks and Astronauts by Diana Barnes.
October 2015 - July 2016: Melanie was a Producer for 8Squared: A Night of New Writing. 8Squared provides a public platform for Royal Central School of Speech and Drama's MA/MFA Writing for Stage and Broadcast Media students to present short, eight-minute plays to the industry and public.
February - April 2016: Melanie was a Marketing Officer for Hampstead Theatre's Festival. The Festival at Hampstead hosts panel discussions, workshops and performances centering on theatre, film, literature and design.
December 2015 - April 2016: Melanie worked with the AVA Festival on a Sponsorship Placement to help research and secure corporate sponsors for the event. AVA is an Audio Visual Arts Festival and Conference in Belfast that celebrates, amplifies and develops the strong current of electronic music and digital visual arts from Northern and Southern Ireland.
January - March 2016: Melanie was on a Producing Placement with Mercury Musical Developments. She supported planning and execution of the BEAM Festival produced by Mercury Musical Developments and Musical Theatre Network. BEAM aims to showcase and introduce new musical works in various stages of development to industry professionals.
February 2014 - August 2015: Melanie was Production Manager for professional theatre, Centre Stage where, as the producer in the trenches, she managed 18 productions in addition to showcases and festivals. Centre Stage is a 285-seat, thrust stage venue that produces 14 plays/musicals and 1 New Play Festival a season.
April 2013 - August 2015: Melanie was the New Play Festival's Producing Director for Centre Stage's annual event. Melanie organised the submission and evaluation process as well as the production process for the week-long Festival presentation.
2011-2015: Melanie was periodically contracted as a Director or Actor for Centre Stage shows.
2012-2014: Melanie was a Teaching Artist for The Warehouse Theatre, a professional theatre company. This involved running one-day theatre workshops for primary or high schools.
2000-2008: Melanie was Front of House staff at the Helen Hayes Theatre (Broadway).
2004-2008: Melanie's day job was in the corporate sector. She was an Administrative Assistant and then promoted to a Contract Administrator for the Legal Department's Contract Administration division at The Beanstalk Group, an international trademark and logo licensing firm.
2003-2004: Melanie worked for play publisher and secondary rights administrator Samuel French, Inc. She started as a Receptionist and was involved as a script Evaluator and Judge with Samuel French's 10 Minute Play Festival. She was promoted to the position of Leasing Agent and Customer Service Representative.
2000-2008: Melanie freelanced in assorted Production Assistant and Crew positions. Notable gigs were Cheat at The Woman's Project Theater andThe Last Dance for Sybil at New Federal Theatre.
